It’s no secret that when it comes to having a relaxed, enjoyable golfing vacation some countries immediately jump to mind more than others. Some tourist hot spots are not the kind to attract any serious or even part time players, whereas others are specific hot spots for the modern golfer. It’s safe to say when looking at the more highly regarded golfing vacation destinations that Portugal is considered one of the latter.

But it can be easy to forget how costly booking your stay with a specific golfing resort can be, or even how much the price can increase when booking a stay at a resort which is located close to a golf course. Most often than not it’s worth paying the asking price, particularly for the more experienced or discerning player, but there can be a number of ways to save cash on other expenses which come with the general travel of a holiday. Paying the extra costs for staying at a real golfing resort is often far more justifiable when savings can be made other aspects of travel

Making the right choice when you’re considering the locations for your Portuguese vacation is something which can save significant sums of money, even without lowering the quality of your chosen resort. This is simply because some places in Portugal are generally more expensive than others, for example it’s obvious that the capital city of Lisbon will be the most expensive place to stay and to golf. By comparison the smaller city of Lagos is cheaper for both hotels and flights although resorts in the Algarve area are cheaper still, regardless of their star rating. Simply by examining the cheaper, sometimes less popular, but by no means lower quality courses and resorts in other parts of Portugal huge savings are easily made on your stay and more importantly your golfing.

Another way of reducing the overall price of your trip is to drive yourself (and your clubs, if you usually take yours with you) to the airport and then to book your car in with a Bristol airport parking site online. This will easily save you money over booking a taxi with a big enough boot for your suite case and your club bag.

Finally don’t forget that renting clubs when it’s not as expensive as you might expect to take your own set away with you could cause you to spend unnecessary amounts of money. Again this relates back to booking into airport parking rather than a taxi, you’ll save cash on both choices and give yourself a more personal experience in regards to travel.

There are plenty of other ways to save yourself money on golfing vacations and most of them simply require a little research or comparison. A number of websites can provide price comparisons for resorts, cities and specific golf courses and many others can give user provided reviews of the same things. Using these sites and the previously mentioned tips is without a doubt the best way of saving yourself money on golfing vacations.
